Grace Moeller is a 3rd year Ph.D. student studying Animal Science with a minor in Statistics under the direction of Dr. Daniel Thomson and Dr. Anna Johnson at Iowa State University. Grace received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in Zoology with a minor in Dairy Science and her Master’s from Iowa State University in Animal Science under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Stalder. Grace is engaged in a multi-species, multi-disciplinary research program. Her swine research focuses on the impact of structural conformation on breeding herd longevity in stalled and group-housed gestation facilities. Her beef cattle research focuses on the impact of feedlot cattle temperament and docility on performance, health, and carcass characteristics, in addition to evaluating pre-slaughter welfare during transit. Following graduation, Grace is looking forward to a career in industry where she can meet the needs and solve the problems farmers and ranchers face every day.
