Dr. Nerisa Riedl is a Deputy District Manager with U. S. Dept. of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service based in the Alameda District Office. She started her federal career 9 years ago in the Chicago District as a Veterinary Student Trainee and has since transitioned through various positions in FSIS as a Supervisory Public Health Veterinarian and Frontline Supervisor. She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from THE Ohio State University. Although originally from Southern California, Dr. Riedl’s career in FSIS has taken her through a few states and many establishments conducting and supervising regulatory activities in red meat slaughter, poultry slaughter, and processing establishments covering most HACCP categories including cell-cultured meat processing. Prior to accepting the Deputy District Manager position, she was the Petaluma Circuit Frontline Supervisor and continues to reside in the Northern California region where she enjoys hiking and the outdoors.
