Emma Hamilton completed her master's degree in the Spring of 2026 at Colorado State University studying under Dr. Temple Grandin. Emma’s research focuses on livestock behavior and welfare, specifically evaluating the relationship between hoof, liver, and heart abnormalities in conventional and natural fed cattle at slaughter. Prior to her time at CSU, Emma completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls where she was an undergraduate research assistant participating in research focused on captive bolt euthanasia in swine, cattle, bison, and yaks. Upon graduation, Emma will be attending veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, with the goal of integrating animal welfare research into livestock practice.
