Vernon Smith grew up on a family-owned poultry farm in South Africa and has extensive experience in the poultry industry. Before co-founding CAT Squared, Vernon earned a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and business economics as well as a Master’s degree in computer science before working as a food-industry process control specialist. As CEO, Vernon has integrated CAT Squared’s individual software modules into a cohesive MES solution for meat manufacturers offering complete visibility of plant-floor processes. Under his leadership, CAT Squared has been honored with the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade by Gov. Asa Hutchinson and twice recognized as a finalist for Arkansas Business of the Year.
