Mike is the Senior Director of Manufacturing Systems with responsibilities for all plant technology-based systems within Perdue Foods reporting to the CIO in the IT department. His role includes delivering manufacturing system solutions to the company that employs the latest technology solutions. This has been accomplished by designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining operational technology and automation solutions which employs new, but proven technologies. Mike oversees 30 professionals located across the Perdue enterprise in primarily technical roles. His duties are primarily focused on the strategic direction of the technical side of the organization delivering benefits to our People, Products, Planet, and Profitability goals. He has 3 direct reports at the leadership level.
Mike has 37 years of Manufacturing Systems experience, all at various roles within Perdue. He has participated on all transformational projects within Perdue including, SAP installation, Digital transformation and Industry 4.0 including IIoT, Data analytics, Packaging Validation using Vision AI/ML , 3rd party Warehouse integration, CFS inventory weigh and label systems and SAP installs, CAT2 MES solution, Kronos Time and Attendance systems, Marel manufacturing weighing systems, Ossid weigh and label packaging systems, MARC WMS and plant floor control systems, SAP MII systems for actual costing solutions and various Rockwell control applications. Mike and his wife Shannon have been married for 37 years, they have one son, and reside in New Church, Va.

As CEO, Vernon has integrated CAT Squared’s individual software modules into a cohesive MES solution for meat manufacturers offering complete visibility of plant-floor processes. Under his leadership, CAT Squared has been honored with the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade by Gov. Asa Hutchinson and twice recognized as a finalist for Arkansas Business of the Year.
